Aww I can rekate .. my own mother was institutionalised in besborou in Cork think thas how u spell it ..when she was pregnant wirh my step sister who we.fpund 20 years ago who lives in Auz. ..not sure if anyone has read a book called The Light in the Window about women incacerated in besborou..its a m9st read on my opinion cant remember yhe author unfortunately ..thank u for this wonderful podcaste and guests sharing their stories ❤❤

Fabulous ..the data evidence is there is a shotage of male social workers coming into the profession ..im a professional social worker from Cork..also from disatvantaged backgr ound originally from the Glen .in Cork ..i now have a masters degree also ..not to boast of course ..studied in UK working and living in the U K im sure its the same at home ...i am to old now to come back home to practice my profession unfortunately at the age of 61..well done for ypur authenticity ..u should be so proud of all your achievements a great example to the up and coming generation ..its great that a voice is being given yo the travelling community ..❤.

Just wondring if u been interviewed by neil prendiville yet? 😮 Sorry im a Cork woman living in Dorset UK many years own family and similar traumas growing up disfuntional home both parents MH undiagnosed at the time so no help . I been on my own healing journey fir years am a social worker trained to.master degree level .. if i hadnt left god knows wot my future wud have turned out like ..my brother unfortunately has not been so lucky also living in UK in and out of the system ..hes 56 im 60 ..i truly admire your courage and service to others thank u from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of others away from home who may be struggling in this selfish and unconscious world we live in..the future is brighter with u guys in it and for all u do service to others ❤❤❤

26:43 According to the gentleman on this podcast stating that only people that don’t work take drugs? What planet is he on? The majority of people on heavy drugs and class A drugs are working people. Class A drugs are very expensive, an unemployed person cannot afford to buy it. The majority of Dublin Airport staff, Bankers, Politicians and businessmen and businesswomen are on Class A drugs. These people always targets the lower class as they are more vulnerable to society. Shame shame shame.

To put into perspective, the team in Beaumont hospital who do reconstruction surgery they have a team of about ten, the will only do 1 surgery per week as it’s too much. Hope this poor girl recovers well what a horrible experience for her.

Lovely hearing about Setanta going to the gaelscoil in Glanmire. I’m a Limerickman but went to Irish college in Cork every summer for 6 years, Scoil Na Nóg in particular in Cork city in the early 2000’s when Cork walloped us around the place in the hurlin. I’m hoping for a different result this Sunday but if we don’t get over the line I hope Cork and especially Hoggy go all the way.
